Wade Fitzpatrick is a Unix/Linux DevOps Engineer. He started using SCO Unix in 1992 and discovered Linux soon after the release of kernel version 1.2.0 in 1995, immediately falling in love with the concept of an entirely free and open computing environment. He has since worked with NetBSD, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, RedHat, Debian, Ubuntu, SuSE, Solaris 2.5.1 to 10 and HP-UX. His distro of choice is currently Arch.
"Waddles" is a nickname given to me as a teenager in a bout of stupidity where we all called each other "something-of-fat". Eg. Riley became "Rolls-of-fat"; Tara became "Tubs-of-fat"; Pascal became "Packs-of-fat"; Wade became "Wads-of-fat". Soon after it was shortened to simply "Wad", then augmented to "Waddles".
